As you can see below on the map, we were indeed in the World Heritage City of George Town, Malaysia. Nobody has guessed yet why we had to go there. The precise reason for the detour into Malaysia would fall into the Logistics category. A little research will reveal it.
30 days into the adventure and we have a new puzzle for you. We hope you enjoy the photos courtesy Rebekah and Mom. No captions this time! Where are we and why are we there?
P.S. We had such a hard time choosing that we ended up with 2 pages of pictures. Make sure you don’t miss page 2.
Toby was Jeb and Levi’s diving instructor for 3 days. He is originally from England, but now has a tapas restaurant in Edmonton, Alberta. It turns out he has great business partners who let him leave for the winter each year to travel the world teaching diving. Last year he was in New Zealand. He is a great guy who we would love to have come play in our neck of the woods someday.
Jim (English) and Martine (French) retired from the advertising worlds of London and Paris at the ages of 45 and have been traveling the world ever since. They spend their summers in Paris and travel around to warm beaches in Thailand, India, Malaysia, Vietnam, etc. the rest of the year. Jim, a famous art director in his day, feels he doesn’t have anything more to offer the world, but is still full of opinions about it. We really liked talking to them; easy-going as it gets. They sure know how to not do much!

What the erf!? winner is Dillon!
Congratulations to my nephew Dillon for guessing that Rebekah doesn’t like her dad to look like some old dude trying to ignore real life on Key West. Button that shirt all the way up! That’s gross!
Thanks to everyone (you all obviously know Rebekah well) who participated. We are trying to get another good puzzle ready for you all soon.

Second Erf Contest

Congrats Eric Warthen!
Eric correctly guessed that the picture was not sent back from the future, that we were still close to home, and therefore he must be seeing the green shake machine at the 59er Diner in the background.
We stopped for shakes on the way to the airport.
Nice work! Send us your address through the contact us page so that we can send your prize.
